Our Infant Program
|
The infant program services children from the age of six weeks to fourteen months of age. Flexible scheduling allows each child to eat, sleep, or play according to his/her own expected schedule.
The ratio of children to adults is four to one. The teacher monitors and records the child’s daily schedule.
The room is equipped to provide freedom of movement and stimulation. All toys are washed daily. Food is refrigerated and then heated in a microwave as necessary. Each child has his or her own sleeping area. All items such as diapers, wipes, bottles, sheets, and blankets are labeled and stored.
Each child spends time interacting with mobiles or toys. Simple songs, finger plays, and short stories are part of the daily routine. The teacher interacts with the child to stimulate the development of speech and to ensure that a strong emotional bond exists.
We encourage open communication between the teacher and the home to provide a secure, loving care for each child.
As your child approaches fourteen months of age and is walking on his or her own, eating table foods, and is ready socially, we will slowly begin the transition to the toddler room.
Our thoughts and decisions will be shared with you as we work together to provide the finest program and choices for your child.
